The card is numbered 23 to coincide with Michael Jordan’s jersey number. It’s no mere coin. It is in fact the only 1933 Double Eagle known to be privately owned. The double eagle series coins, minted from 1907-1933, were modeled on the beautiful gold coins of ancient Greece. They were conceived behind the backs of Congress by Theodore Roosevelt & Augustus Saint-Gaudens as they considered US coinage at the time to be artistically of atrocious hideousness. This is a Limited Edition Solid 20-karat Gold 20th Anniversary Pikachu, produced by Japanese jewelry maker Ginza Tanaka. It is based on the original Japanese Pikachu card, affectionately nicknamed ‘Fat Pikachu’ due to the distinctive chubby cheeks featured in the design.
